CAREREVOLUTION 5.3® RECEIVES CCHIT 2011 PRE-MARKET COMPREHENSIVE CERTIFICATION

EHS ALSO RECEIVES A 5-STAR USABILITY RATING

Birmingham, Ala. – EHS, a Birmingham-based company specializing in electronic health record (EHR) and physician practice management software systems, announces that its CareRevolution 5.3® is a pre-market conditionally CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR additionally certified for  Child Health . EHS is in the first group of  EHR vendors to certify an EHR in the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Comprehensive program.

The CCHIT Certified 2011 Comprehensive program provides a rigorous inspection of integrated EHR functionality, interoperability and security, in addition to being fully compliant with applicable proposed federal standards. The CCHIT Certified Comprehensive program is intended to service health care providers looking for maximal assurance that a product will meet their complex needs, as well as support their achievement of meaningful use to qualify for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) financial incentives.

“As one of the first to receive the 2011 CCHIT Certification, we believe this confirms our position as a leading provider of EHR software solutions for physicians,” said Lori Hines, associate vice president of actualization of EHS.  “Our product, CareRevolution, is designed to allow physicians to run their practices more effectively and profitably with a single, comprehensive “Point-of-Care” system.”

During the process, EHS received a 5-star usability rating which is the highest achievable designation within Comprehensive certification.  Attaining the Comprehensive certification, as EHS has done, indicates that the product meets or exceeds applicable proposed federal standards as they exist for EHR technology to support the 2011-2012 incentives under ARRA.

In February of 2009, the ARRA stimulus bill was signed into law and included $46 billion in incentives encouraging physicians and hospitals to adopt EHR technology systems.  Incentive funds are available to eligible medical professionals beginning in 2011 if they can demonstrate meaningful use of EHR’s.
“EHS has a depth of knowledge regarding the ARRA requirements and incentives that will be particularly valuable to those physicians interested in taking advantage of the program,” continued Hines.  “Our products make it a painless process for those wishing to make the transition to EHR.”
