 Birmingham, AL – EHS, a Birmingham-based company specializing in electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software systems, has promoted Adele Allison to the newly created position of National Director of Government Affairs. In this position, she will ensure that EHS is well-positioned to navigate the coming changes in healthcare for both physicians and insurers.
“Adele has already been intimately involved in the research and strategy development that EHS has been creating related to the current movement toward healthcare reform and in conjunction with the provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA),” said Sandy Pittman, EHS chief executive officer. “Her knowledge in this area will allow EHS to offer solutions to physician groups and hospitals that meets their billing, scheduling and management needs in this volatile environment.”
Allison has 18 years experience in the healthcare industry and has been with EHS for 10 years. She has served as a consultant on electronic health record (EHR) systems and has worked closely with government officials on a wide variety of healthcare legislation, including the ARRA in 2009.
“With all the changes that are taking place around healthcare in our country today, it was imperative that we create this director-level position,” continued Pittman. “As we begin working even more closely with Regional Extension Centers, state-level Health Information Exchange projects and state Medicaid agencies, this position, and the relationships developed with these agencies, will be even more critical.”
A native of Atlanta, GA, she has been employed on several different fronts in the healthcare industry, including with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana and Triton Health Systems. Allison was graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She resides in Homewood, AL with her husband, Brian, and has two children, Matt Allison of Homewood and Caitlin Allison, a student at Auburn University.
